Owens = Mordor?
When you're travelling north on I-75, you can see Owens community college on the right of the highway. The other day, rainy and cloudy, I glanced over and saw the big O on top of college (?) hall and realized it looked like the eye of sauron. Anyone else see this, or am I going nuts?

Let them have broadband!
This makes me sick. Don't get me wrong, I think it would be really nifty for the whole country to have broadband by 2007. However, I've got my fucking priorities straight and think it would be MUCH better if the whole country had jobs, healthcare, and a better economy first. But hey, that's just me.

What the hell is wrong with you people?
There are people losing their jobs right and left and you're worried about wether or not Simon Cowell was flipping the bird on camera or just holding up his head? Doesn't it even bother you that more people vote for American Idol than in the actual fucking elections? You are also the same people who go on and on about gay marriage and how it "ruins families" and "hurts Americans." Well, you're wrong. You know what really ruins families and hurts Americans? Having no fucking money because you've lost your job due to a poor economy and there's no help in sight for you because the government has spent all of the money and then some fighting a war against a guy who hasn't posed a threat to the US in over 8 years.Get your head out of your ass.

Blinded by the light….
I can't fucking see.I've got a vision problem, and I've had one since the 3rd grade. I'm so nearsighted that I can read anything unless it's two inches in front of my face. In this day and age of modern technology, my vision problem had always been solved by some sort of corrective eyeware... until recently.
For some odd reason, my contacts have been blurry since last friday. I've even tried putting a few new pairs in, no dice. I'm able to see better than I would without my contacts, but it's really hard to see in a distance, read, etc. I couldn't get an appt. with the eye doctor until next week, so I'm kind of screwed. So, why not just wear my glasses?
Well, my glasses are broken. And not just like a screw loose, or something easy to fix. They fell on the ceramic tile floor when I was in NYC and the plastic frame split along the bottom right side of the frame and will no longer hold my lense. Even if they weren't broken, the frames don't sit correctly on my face and give me the worst headaches... that's why I rarely wear them. I usually wear contacts. But now, when I wear my contacts, I can't fucking see. You see the obvious problem here.
So last night, I go grocery shopping at meijer, and I couldn't see a damn thing. Do you know how hard it is to check a price on a sticker when you can't see? It makes you look like a dork, and so did I. Checking out was strange as I had my face in the little ATM punch pad, looking at the prices that I couldn't see earlier, and the checkout person was looking at me kind of strangely. The drive home was rather difficult as I also have problems seeing in the dark. Fortunately for me, most of the way is lighted with street lights.
So I've scotch taped up my glasses, which seems to be holding, and I'm going to try that today. At least I'll be able to read my work email, and maybe I'll be able to put my resolution back to a normal size. So here's a warning: If you see me, don't ask me about my scotch tape glasses... or make fun of me. I'll kick your ass.

Help is on the way!
Hooray! My new intern starts today! Finally, some help! We'll see how long he sticks around though. His first job is to move all of the crap out of the storage room next door into another room across the hallway. The room next door already has phone and network drops, and they're itchin' for usable office space. Also, we need to get workin on all those projects so we can start recycling barebones machines and finish deploying all of the new computers that were supposed to be deployed last year. Maybe, he'll even dig up the hidden treasure of the BG 1750 router that was hangin' out in that room before it became a disaster area, but has dissappeared somewhere. This guy seems like a good kid, knows his stuff, and has a good support background. Hooray for interns!
