“Are you ‘bad kitty’ or ’slutty kitty’? “

Warning, you are entering a rant zone. Read at your own risk.

You know... I didn't really mind busting my ass for this United Way Halloween Spooky Spectacular. I didn't mind taking on the position with no record of what had been done in the past, no record of who had donated, and only a few weeks to put something together. I had *no* problem with it because I was raising money to help people. I like to help people. I do it well.

Last night, I went shopping to get all the supplies, cooked two pots of chili, rearranged the break room and decorated it, and set out my costume. I went to bed at 12:30, got up at 6:00. I reheated the chili, showered and squeezed my ass into these leather pants and cat costume, went to meijer to pick up some breakfasty stuff (got plenty of looks there) and unloaded it all into sky. Fortunately for me, my pals at the help desk (bless their hearts) also brought in chili along with a few other people. Jon R. went to meijer to get more chili which they sold to him in a bag and picked up more supplies for me. Despite the hurriedness of it all, the presentation was nice and I had everything I needed. I took some pictures of the few people who dressed up (along with my helpdesk buddies.. they rule). It was now time to enjoy some chili.

So I go into the breakroom to get some cash from the atm for some chili and overhear some ladies talking. They're going on and on and on about how the halloween thing was so much better last year, the 8 million things that were wrong with what was going on this year, how I should've done it instead. Obviously, they didn't recognize me in my hep costume. So after I got my money, I went over to stir the chili and saw my pal Frank. I started talking about all the positive things about the chili cookoff and what I've been doing for the united way. It got really quiet from side of the break room where the chatty hens were sitting. That got me really down at first, but soon the cookoff was underway, there was a lot of work to be done, and I didn't have time to think about it.

Oddly enough, I won my own chili contest, by twenty cents, but of course I couldn't get the prize. Lucky for me, I got to clean all the nasty coagulated crockpots. Everything seemed to go over really welll... but now I'm really tired... sleep...Kristy need sleepy

“Big American Party”

Hey all! Tommorrow is Tom's birthday!! Hooray!

We're all going to go out to dinner at Sam B's around 6pm, so if you'd like to join us, please feel free (and let me know too, so I know for how many seats to ask.)

After dinner, we're going to go do some special activity (that is a surprise to Tom, so if you want to know what special activity is, let me know). If you plan to join us for special activity, I'll fill you in on the details.

Come one, come all... it's gonna be a good time!

Recent Updates

Things are going well for me lately. I don't have any new user stuff to do today, call volume is *way* low, and I'm tired of surfing, so I figured I throw a little update on the page.

Things going on in my life lately:

-I'm the new United Way Coordinator for Sky Tech:

(apparently we're just a subsidiary of Sky Bank, so we need our own rep). Less Starr (the HMFIC, my boss' boss' boss' boss' boss' boss, no relation to Ringo) left a VM for me the other day and said he wanted to chat. I figured I was in trouble, but he just really wanted to know if I was interested in doing united way stuff. Little did I know that I would be a Coordinator, but hey, it can't be any harder than what I had done in AOII (sky tech = working professionals, work a normal schedule, get paid... AOII = college girls, irregular schedules, have to pay to be there, AND have about 8 million other things going on). I've been looking into getting back into volunteering stuff lately, but haven't really found a regular outlet. This opportunity rules. I felt really aweful earlier when I was too poor to give cash money to the diabetes fundraiser. I cooked some chili and made some of my kickass brownies, figuring that if people throw in a buck a brownie / cup of chili, it would raise more money than what I spent on ingredients. With this UW thing, I'll be able to invest time and effort (which I have) instead of cash money (which I don't have).

- I've conquered my sewing machine:

After much research, I was able to thread that goddamn sewing machine. Everytime I go to sew, this is my biggest obstacle, but this time I come out victorious. I'm sewing some fabric to put on the wood panel wall at my apartment (this is why Tom should never let me watch DIY network for more than an hour, I want to put fabric on my walls and make arts and crafts) as well as both my and Tom's halloween costumes.

-Karate kicks my butt, so that I can kick yours: Taking Karate was one of the best decisions I've made this year. 35 bucks for a semester, and I'm loving every monday and wednesday lesson. My sensei is a great teacher, I'm losing weight, and I'm building some muscle too. OSU! I'm digging my yoga class too, but unfortunately I have no class this week because of stupid fall break (BOO!)

- With my mind on my money and my money on my mind:

So I can't afford to buy a plane ticket to see my grandparents for thanksgiving. Wierd thing is, I can't remember the last time I haven't gone out to phoenix for the turkey day vakay, so I consider myself fortunate in that arena. I got some bad advice to wait to buy plane tickets when they got cheaper, but they only got more expensive and now it's biting me in the ass. There's still a possibility that I might snag a last minute fare, but it seems as if those aren't so plentiful these days (especially since it'll be over a holiday weekend). Oh well, I've never cooked a turkey before, so it'll be a good time to learn. If you also have no place to go for Turkey Day, lemme know. Dinner's at my place :)

-Fry me to the moon:

Things with Tom are going really well and he's the best roomate I've ever had (as well as the best bf too) :) It'll be his birthday in a few weeks and I've got a few things planned :) Hopefully he'll have a good birthday. It'll work out well because I can celebrate with him the weekend before. I have to work the whole weekend after his birthday, so he said he'll probably head home and celebrate with his family too. I've got an idea of what he wants (and have already purchased a few things), but I still haven't received the almighty list yet.

-I wear my sunglasses at night:

So I've gotten a few wierd hits on the site lately. If you haven't figured it out yet, I track my hits, well, because I wanna see who my audience is. Someone from pacfc.fleet.navy.mil likes my site as well as the folks from Nationwide, a few people from various parts of Canada, an australian, and a few other odd places. I also dig the google searches too. It's a funny day when a search for "naked martha stewart" pulls up a hit for my site (hopefully at the end of the list). :)

That's all I can think of for now. Over and out.
