3000 miles to BG…

Last weekend was pretty great. The work thing went well, got to spend some time with Tommy, we all had fun. Sunday, Tommy bought some art for the apt. Vintage ads... very cool... goes well with the coffee tables.

tuesday I had my final session of bullshit training in findlay. It was kind of wierd to be back in that old town. I didn't think I'd miss it, but I did.

Right now, I'm procrastinating. I'm supposed to be cleaning, but I don't feel like it. My room's a mess.

Much to my surprise, there's an actual geek on "beat the geeks" instead of a pretty boy in glasses. Now if they could only get rid of that moron bimbo who holds the tv, it'd be a great show.

Watched apocolypse now... and now am watching 3000 miles to graceland. It was a night, oh yes it really was such a night...

Sometimes, I wonder why I keep this journal. Too many people read it that I don't really want to. Stop being nosey and let me rant would ya?

To Xbox or not to Xbox…

Last night, I tasted blood. Yes, courtesy of my friend Brandon, I was able to play the Xbox. Now I want one for my very own. However, I have neither an xbox or the money to buy one. This begins the Kristy's xbox fund. I am accepting donations as well as xbox components :) Oh yeah, and my birthday is in exactly a month from today (read possible gift idea).

Seriously though, I had a good time last night at Mutz, hanging out, drinkin' good beer (greg has a shortsleave version of one of my einstein shirts!). After everyone dispersed, I headed over to Brandon's place and started playing various xbox games... and it was good. I want one. The only thing I didn't like were the big controllers, but I guess all the new systems are like that.

This weekend promises to be interesting. I'm heading over to Kent tonight and then to Hudson on saturday for a helpdesk meeting at the holiday inn (free hotel stay!). I guess the hotel is pretty plush, so it'll be a nice getaway (and the meeting is only 4 hours). Tom said he would plan something for us to do on Sunday, which will no doubt, be fun :) Monday, though, I have some more bullshit training on MaxSat in Findlay. Fortunately, it's only one day long this time and maybe I can get out early :) Cross your fingers.

What is the world coming to?

I am *so* sick of listening to and hearing about James Traficant.

You wonder why people think that Ohio is full of morons. He's going to go to congress, dressed like a freak, spouting off his mouth, jumping up and down, shooting off guns, yelling "look at me, look at me! Im the hillbilly freak that made it into congress! Yeeeehaw! You-uns can't kick me out! I was elected by the peoples, I was! It's my constuh-muh-tooshunal right to be here, duh-huh!"

James Traficant, you selfish little prick. How about you quit thinking solely of yourself and start considering the people you represent. I understand you come from the third world part of Ohio, but unfortunately, you represent the whole state. We're proud of 8 presidents, two guys on the moon, and the world's largest state fair. We don't want to be proud to have the first guy kicked out of congress since the civil war because you couldn't keep your ass in line. And shave off those idiotic sideburns; you are not a member of the dukes of hazard.

NBC is making a MARTHA STEWART MOVIE.... First, you've brainwashed my gramma into a WWMD (What would martha do) mode of thinking. Now you're going to put the devil herself into primetime? Like her dull daytime home shows weren't bad enough? She has invaded our media (tv, magazines, books, websites), taken over our stores (Kmart), invaded our economy (Martha stock and martha's shady sell-off)and brainwashed our grandmothers for TOO LONG! You're caught, honey. Your best friend Samuel Waksal, was arrested on June 12 and charged with conspiracy, securities fraud and perjury for allegedly trying to sell ImClone stock and tipping off family members that the Food and Drug Administration had rejected the company's application for a new cancer drug. We're on an economic witch hunt; enron, adelphia, worldcom, and soon to be martha stewart INC. I hope someone nice makes you her bitch in prison and lets you cook her a nice seasonal specific meal with overpriced ingredients in a time frame that no normal person can attend to. Oh yeah, and I bought some of your plates for pennies on the dollar when Kmart closed down. How do you like them apples?

Take the religion out of the pledge of allegiance, leave your bible at home, and quit your bitching. People say, "why does it matter, aren't there more important issues, this country was founded on religion, etc." First of all, the pledge of allegiance was originated as a marketing ploy by a socialist magazine. Obviously it caught on, like bandaids and kleenex, what was once just a little jingle is now part of the American standard. Secondly, In the early 50's, as part of an anti-communism scheme, the knights of columbus (read catholic shriners / masons), solicited to have "under god" added to the pledge and "in god we trust" added to the money and succeeded. Thirdly, the constitution has this little thing about giving no respect to any religious institution, a little thing called the separation of church and state. Separation being the operative word there. If it doesn't matter, then take the God out. If it does matter to you, then tough shit. Religious freedom is pretty important in this country, if you don't like it, move. Again, here the word "freedom" is the operative word. I'm sure you would bitch if your money said "in Ganesh we trust."

Go ahead, leave some comments. Tell me what you think.

Praise God, eh.

So his holy fish-head, the pope, is in Toronto for world youth - somethin' or other. Does anyone else think it's kind of funny that the pope is having a big slumber party with a bunch of kids?

my jabbering about my weekend

So I said I would discuss my weekend...

Friday afternoon Tom came into town (w00t!) and he did the sweetest thing! He found my car at the sky parking lot and put a lovely card in my windshield wiper! How sweet is that :) Needless to say, I enjoyed it a lot :) We had dinner and did a little grocery shopping for Mays' anime party. We hauled about a carload of stuff over to his house (which is pretty much around the corner from mine) including the grill and some charcoal. Cookin' out baby! I cooked up some nice hot dogs and burgers (flavored with beer), drank some scotch and some beer, and had some tasty food.... Watched a lot of Grand Theft Auto III, which is awesome.. perhaps someday I can play it :) Got to watch some anime later in the evening.. went home pretty late. The next morning I got up early and cleaned the house a bit. I pretty much bleached my bathroom down and it helped a lot, but stunk up my apartment something aweful. In the afternoon was a BGSLUG meeting at my house, and we got a lot accomplished. For dinner, Tom and I had some infamous trotter's, brown jug steaks... mmmm... We were going to go to findlay and have Japan West, but we didn't feel like driving so far. We chilled-in for the rest of the night :) Sunday was another bgslug meeting also accomplishing a lot. Sunday night, Tom cooked for me, Tasty lime chicken and rice :) It was awesome! He wouldn't let me help, he did all the shopping and even cleaned up afterwards. Sunday night, I got the itch to reprogram my journal code. What I had before was ripped off of Matt's journal code (thanks matt!), but it was awefully dirty and didn't have a lot of the stuff I wanted it to have. Fortunately, I have apache and mysql running on my laptop, so I didn't even have to mess with any online stuff. I had been hungering for a little programming :) Soon, I'm going to put up a database driven wish list. Perhaps someday I'll even be able to ssh from work and do a little programming on my down time. Monday, Tom decided to hang around until tuesday :) Tom is really a great guy and I love having him around :) He left on tuesday, so I had to find some way to keep myself entertained. Since I don't have a lot of money, I ventured to the local library and acquired a library card. I was happy to find that they had a bunch of DVD's and picked up a few. Later that night I went to wings and hung out a bit. After wings, I went to see if Jay was at cosmos and he was. I hadn't seen Jay in a few weeks, so it was nice to catch up with him. Good times.. good times. Next weekend, I have the meeting with the east help desk in Hudson, Ohio (complete with meals and free one night stay). Tom is going to take me to the finer parts of Cleveland on sunday, so that should be entertaining. I would *really* like to get a decent look at the art museum (I only had about an hour and a half tour of it last time I was there). I hear the west side market is pretty cool, and I hear Jay talk about little italy a lot. I've never really had a good taste of cleveland, so I'm looking forward to it.

new additions

This will soon be a new addition on the links page (when I get home from work). Finally, a woman I can identify with :)

It works! sorta…

So I have the new journal code up and running. For the most part, everything works. There are some nice new redirects that were painfully missing from the last code as well as a title for my journal entries. The only things I would like to do are cosmetic, a few spaces here... smaller font there... ya know the type. So, since the grunt work is finished, I'll probably take it easy. Next journal entry will talk about my weekend... It was great :)

I'm almost finished with the new journal code, but it's getting late, so I'm not going live tonight.

In the meantime, comments don't work. fyi.

you'll just have to wait and comment on the new code :)
