My luck is incredible ;)

Two days with the cable modem and it gets fried. Fortunately, I have a new one that works and I'm back in business.

Wow.. okay.. I've been gone for awhile.

This last weekend I headed into Kent to spend time with Tom over the long weekend. I had a good time and even got to meet some more of his family (who are also cool).

I did some more unpacking in efforts to get settled into this apartment, but it seems like that will never happen. I'm close though... so close.

Last night was kind of wierd... I was just sitting in my room watching harry potter and I heard some guy talking to me from the outside. I was annoyed at first, but I thought.. hell... he's probably one of my neighbors and I could make friends or enemies... So I grabbed a beer and went outside on my porch to talk to him. Cool guy. It's really interesting to talk to people older than your parents who have different backgrounds. This guy says he's not computer literate, but we did have a lengthy discussion on Diablo and Diablo II :) I finally headed in at around 3 and finished watching the movie and went to bed.

Woke up this morning, cleaned up the kitchen, got my cable modem and decided to hit the road...

I wanted to get some rollerblading time in before the downpour expected this afternoon, so I made a quick "music for rollerblading" mix, grabbed my wheels, and drove to the bike path. I bladed all the way from the bg stop to the stop between bg and rudolph. I really don't know how far it was, but it felt *really* good. I passed fire lake on the way, which gave me a really cool idea to rollerblade to see my grandparents next week. They'd get a kick out of that, and it might actually help my gramma realize that putting rollerblades on my feet != instant death (when I hadn't been around when she called over the weekend, she was worried that 'the gas stove got to me'... what can I say.. the woman thrives on worry).

Needless to say, I'm in a good mood. I've got my cable modem deal all taken care of, I did some great blading to some great music, and I'm starting to make progress on this apartment. Now... I just gotta find a job :)

Thursday I get my cable modem hooked up.

Friday I get to see my Tommy again...

It's only tuesday...

I've been having some interesting times lately.

I woke up this morning and went to the cherry wood health spa to work out, but realized that it sucked pretty badly. Since it still hasn't hit me that Ive graduated, I had to venture onto the campus (well, I rollerbladed there) for a smoothie and some quiet reading. I'm hoping the weather continues to get warmer so I can do more rollerblading. I'm getting deeper into Cryptonomicron by Neal Stephenson. Good Book.

Yesterday was kind of a wierd day. My grandparents left, Tom went home, and a few other things really got me bummed out. I slept most of the afternoon. After I got myself together again, I headed to cosmos where Jay was just getting off of work. I walk in and he says "you look a bit frazzled." After he was off of work, we went to the antique place and he bought some vinyl. I was looking for cool things for my apartment, but didn't find anything that really spoke to me. I checked my email, got some subway for dinner, read a bit. Talked to Joe for a bit which is always fun. Read some more, went shopping at walmart for more house things. Trying to get my shit together. Talked to Tommy who I miss ever so much. I can't wait until he moves in in the fall. Not only is it going to be awesome, but we're also going to have the most wired apartment in BG :) Just you wait :)

Alright.. gotta head home and get some work finished

Hey all.

I've graduated and moved into my new apartment. My phone number is still the same, so if you'd like to call me, go ahead. I'm still trying to unpack and look for a job (I've got an interview tomorrow, so that's good).

I won't have 'net until thursday afternoon, so that's why it's been so quiet.

Catch ya later.

Pete- if you read this, I've got a bunch of Disney VHS just for you. Get in touch!

Put a FORK IN ME I'M SO DONE! :)

I did rather well on Dunning's exam this morning and all I have left is a ceramics critique this afternoon (which really isn't anything).

Now... I pack :)

So here's the plan:

1. I graduate saturday morning

2. Light lunch at my place afterwards

3. I sneak out sometime in the afternoon to go pick up my key to my new apartment.

4. Family Dinner, 5pm @ Navy Bistro

5. Start "the move"

6. Sunday Morning, Mother's day breakfast

7. Larry(s) to the Toledo airport at noon (leave at 2)

8. Resume "the move"

9. Haven House Apartment is empty and clean by Monday at 10pm (Checkout)

Now, I could really use some help here. If anyone would like to help me move, there will be plenty of food and beer (or other liquor, rather) for your troubles. Let me know if want to help and I will love you forever :)

These are the days that I will cherish for the rest of my life....

Man have I been living under the "work hard, play hard" ideal lately. I had a bunch of assignments and stuff to finish last week (from when I was sick) as well as stuff for finals week to finish. Got all that done.

Thursday, I did my normal routine and had an amazing interview with HCR manor care. What a great company, it would be *so* cool to work for them. Thursday night, I throw on my boots and cowboy hat and head up to nashvilles with Jon and Emily. Did some country line dancin', got to watch emily ride the bull, had a great time there :)

Friday, Tom came into town and we chilled out all afternoon / evening. Friday night, all the geeks hit the bars for the CS Grads 2002 Barcrawl (watch out! here come the geeks!). Everyone involved had a good time, we all had t-shirts, and I think even I got a few good pictures. Didn't get in until late because we headed to Taco Bell, and made sure everyone got home okay (no, Jon, you don't owe me big time ;) ).

Woke up early saturday morning to finish the pasta salad for the BGSLUG picnic and cleaned up my house a little bit. After all that was done, Tom and I layed down to take a quick nap and ended up sleeping the whole afternoon away. Now I've got all this pasta salad in my fridge, and I didn't get to go to the picnic! Oh well, more pasta salad for me I guess. By the time we got around it was 8 ish, and when we were making dinner plans, we realized that Tom had lost his ID the previous evening (which is probably making some little underage drunkard frat boy really happy now). We couldn't find it anywhere, so we ended up going to get sushi at Uraku (we were gonna go to trotters, but if you go there for a brown jug steak.. you have to have a guinness... and with no id.. it's hard to get guinness). Sometimes, you gotta wonder why things happen.... at Uraku, Tom and I saw our "sushi dude" from Yoko who was helping out on the busy saturday night. He makes really good sushi, and he's a cool guy :) We got to chat with him for a bit :) It is actually kind of wierd too, because he was around when Tom and I were paying for sushi with separate checks ;) The food was great as always and we headed over to cosmos afterwards to visit Jay, who was having the work weekend from hell. We saw Jesse and Harr there as well, so it was cool to sit around and chat with everyone. Jay so had a shot on some freshman chicks dressed like schoolgirls.. but he didn't take it... probably because Jay has more style than that :) After he closed, we all went to the grill and chatted some more. I'm pretty glad that I'm staying in town for a little while longer. I used to hate bowling green.. but now... I don't. I found some cool people and some cool places... and now... I would like to stay around a bit longer. For example, Me, Tom, Jay, Jesse, and Harr having a chat on a saturday night at an empty corner grill.... Going out with a bunch of CS majors... These are the days that we remember...

After the grill, Tom and I went home to watch Anti-Trust, which is actually a good little geek movie, despite the eye candy. And, it's not really too far off as far as geekness goes (although most people don't access satellites with IP addresses). Tom even liked it :)

Sunday was pretty uneventful, I cleaned house some more, did some laundry, glazed some pots, went to visit Jay in the afternoon. Good Times. Monday, my gramma and grampa came in, so Tom and I had dinner with them at easy street and then chilled out at the motor home for a bit and chatted. Tom was pretty nervous about the whole thing, but he eased up a bit later. It was so nice to see them again, I love my grandparents so much. They're the cutest lil' old people ever. My gramma gave me "the blanket" that she had been knitting for me for the past year or so. It's gorgeous, huge, and *so* warm :) She made me a lap blanket and is working on making me a rug as well to match. I got a candle too and some money from my great aunt and uncle. I love graduation presents :) Hopefully, I can use some of that to get started on this whole new apartment thing and manage to maybe even pay off some bills. I got to show gramma and grampa where I was living in the summer. I noticed that the building had a different address than the one that the apartment people gave me. I sent out the one that the apartment people gave me on all of my announcements. I hope... HOPE that my mail gets to me. Gah. I'm excited though. It'll only be a quiet little summer home until Tom and I get a real apartment, but I'll make it nice :) Last night, Tom and I decided to take a walk to the union to get some ice cream. I was going to pay, but I realized that I was missing my wallet. I apparently caught the bug from Tom, but fortunately for me, it was still at easy street where I left it. Sooo.. Tom and I walked down to easy street, and walked home. It was a nice warm night last night and I like taking walks with Tom :) He's such a good guy and he does a really good job of keeping me happy :) This afternoon, We're probably going to do a little apartment shopping :) We'll see. I notice that the apt above the hairy canary still isn't occupied. It's way too expensive, and is probably leased in the fall, but man... is it neat. I'm sure we'll find something. I hope I can hear back from the hcr manor care people soon :) SOMEBODY'S GOTTA HIRE ME!

Alright.. that's enough rambling for now... it's FINALS WEEK BAY-BEE. I've got less than a week till I graduate!!! OHHH YEAH!

I'm starting to feel better. My use of tissue rate has gone down a little bit, but not much. I'm out of NyQuil (so I'll have to get some more). Dennis Leary was so right... it's got the green death flavor, but it's soooo good.

Tom and I talked for hours yesterday and it was well overdue. Things have only gotten better for us, and all is well. He's driving up on friday and wants to take me out this weekend. *giggle* I'm excited :) We might do a little apartment hunting too while we're at it. I might make him take me up to Sofa Mart too... I want to find the perfect purple couch :) I already told him that I'm going to make him drive me all over creation like Drivin' Miss Kristy. I like to be driven and besides, my check engine light is on :)

Things are starting to wind down for the semester. It doesn't even feel like I'm going to graduate in 11 days. I need some warm weather :) I'm almost done with my last assignments, and I addressed all of my graduation announcements yesterday, so those will go out sometime today. Wow, I'll be a college graduate soon. Go figure :)

My grandparents are rollin' into town on Monday and I'm really excited. Tom is staying in town long enough to get to meet them too. I know he's nervous, but my grandparents will see that he makes me happy and that's important to them :) I've shown them pictures before and they think he's a "handsome young man." I'm excited to show Tom their land yacht (motor home) too. It's quite neato :) I just hope I get over this cold because I don't want to get anyone sick when they come to visit.

OH. And if you have 2 graduation tickets... lemme know :)
